Hemp is considered a very strong fiber. However, it is worth understanding that carefully made items (from any natural fiber) require increased attention and care. When it comes to caring for your hemp fabric bedding, simplicity is key. Here’s a quick guide to maintaining your hemp fabric items:

1. Pre-soak: Hemp is wet-resistant but stiff fiber, which is why we recommend the new product to be wetted before washing, so that will prevent the spools on the fabric. Fill a small container with lukewarm water and submerge the hemp garment and let it soak for about 10 minutes.
2. Quick machine or hand wash: Hemp fabric is easy to clean, and a quick wash with 40-60°C is usually sufficient to keep it fresh. Choose mild, eco-friendly detergent and do not use bleach or fabric softener. They can coat the fibers and reduce breathability. Use a short spin and pull the seams straight after washing.
3. Air dry and iron when damp: Hang outside or in a well-ventilated area. If tumble drying, use a low heat setting and remove while slightly damp. 4. Storing in ventilated place: Store in a dry place, ensuring linens are completely dry. Hemp is naturally “breathable” fabric and it’s important to store hemp products in breathable conditions, such as in fabric bags, to avoid plastic containers that block airflow and can trap moisture.
